Woof Creek Dog Sled & Skijor Race

The Rio Grande Club will be hosting South Fork's first "Woof Creek Dog Sled & Skijor Race " this President's Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, February 16 & 17 at the Rio Grande Club!
Come and watch approximately 15-20 dog sled teams consisting between one to six dogs from the Rocky Mountain Sled Dog Club battle it out for prizes and bragging rights over a two day period. The two day race consists of class heats on Saturday and on Sunday morning beginning at 9 am at the Rio Grande Club with a dog sled clinic and demonstration with lunch or brunch to follow in the Timbers restaurant.
The fun continues with a musher's dinner and dance that Saturday evening at RGC from 6-9 pm featuring live music and an opportunity to have dinner with the mushers of the Rocky Mountain Sled Dog Club.
Weather permitting and snow dependent, RGC will host the sled dog races Saturday & Sunday morning at 9am, with a chili lunch on Saturday and brunch from 10-1 on Sunday. Attendees can come and see the excitement of the dog sled teams racing away, enjoy a chili lunch or warm coco around fire pits and even have dinner with the mushers Saturday evening featuring live music from 6-9 pm.
Sunday morning at 9am the dogs will be off again for the final leg of the races with Sunday brunch and award ceremony afterwards.
Colorado weather can be quite fickle, so race course details may change accordingly. No matter the weather, a dog sled clinic and demonstration will be held Saturday morning with a $20 musher's dinner on Saturday night at the Rio Grande Club with live music for all to enjoy. Dinner, dancing and "dog talk" for everyone! (RSVP for the musher's dinner by February 11th.)
